Hello!

Whoever and wherever you are, dear reader, I hope that you are doing well. If you’ve stumbled across this article, I imagine it’s because you’ve come across one of the other articles that I will have written since the time I publish this, and decided to peruse other pieces of mine. I don’t imagine that many people will find this article on its own until I’ve built up a more sizeable body of work. If you have happened across this article in these early days however, then — welcome! I’m grateful that you’re lending me a few minutes of your time.

As the title of this article may (or may not) suggest, this is a bit of an introduction to myself. I find that 160 characters really isn’t enough to encapsulate a good sense of who a person is. Or maybe it’s just because I haven’t used Twitter in at least 8 years.

My name is Alex, and I am a person of insatiable curiosity who likes to try his hand at anything and everything. My list of interests, hobbies, and side hustles/projects is quite long, and that is part of the joy of life. Trying out new things, seeing what I like, what I don’t like, and what I learn along the way has made the past few years a remarkable period of personal growth and development. I have my day job, but I am also: an artist (painter); an enthusiast of both beer and wine; and an appreciator of design, watches, cars, and fashion. I hold a bachelor’s degree in International Business with a concentration in Finance, and am into personal finance and investing.

I decided to start writing on Medium to exercise my creative writing muscle, and ultimately improve my communication skills. Participating in a larger community of sharing ideas is also something that I have never really taken time to involve myself in, and I’m looking forward to becoming a part of the global community here on Medium, sharing my perspectives, and seeing those of others in turn. My writing will primarily focus on business, finance (especially personal finance), and personal development as I feel that these are paramount areas in which to develop a skillset and knowledge base. I will occasionally write about different subjects, but in an effort to keep an ongoing theme in my writing so people can come to know what to expect, those are the areas that I will concentrate on.

I’ll end things here, but I look very much forward to interacting with you through my writing here. I’m here to share information that you will hopefully find a use for in your everyday life, and I am equally eager to learn from those I see and meet through this platform.
